‘Shear Easy’ Demonstration and trial 2006
Bill Byrne of Peak Hill Industries together with Australian Wool Innovations have developed a machine called Shear Ezy to keep shearers in the industry and avoid some of the health risks associated with the backbreaking industry.
Shear Ezy was demonstrated at Calga during the recent Dohne shearing.

Shearers who have used the machine report say that it is a lot easier than the traditional method of shearing, especially in regard to back strain.

Shear Ezy lends itself to use by contractors and situations where mobility is essential and they can be set up in machinery sheds or anywhere there is standard mains power supply.
